WIRE DRAWING MACHINES

JIAKE manufactures wire drawing machines for reducing the diameter of steel and metal wire for different production requirements.

Our wire drawing machine solutions include straight line wire drawing machines, water tank wire drawing machines and pulley type wire drawing machines for processing different wire materials, inlet and outlet diameters and production capacities.

WHAT IS A WIRE DRAWING MACHINE?

A wire drawing machine is industrial equipment used to reduce the diameter of metal wire by pulling the wire through one or multiple drawing dies. During the drawing process, the wire diameter gradually decreases while the wire length increases.

Wire drawing machines are widely used for processing steel wire, low-carbon wire, high-carbon wire, galvanized wire and other metal wires for further manufacturing processes.

JIAKE wire drawing machine can produce round wire and ribbed wire to meet industry requirements for different applications.

HOW DOES A WIRE DRAWING MACHINE WORK?

A wire drawing machine gradually reduces the diameter of metal wire through a continuous multi-pass drawing process. The wire passes through a series of drawing dies with progressively smaller openings until the required final diameter is achieved.

1. Wire Pay-Off

The original wire rod or wire coil is fed from a pay-off system into the wire drawing machine.

2. Wire Surface Preparation

Depending on the wire material and production process, the wire may be cleaned, descaled or lubricated before entering the drawing dies.

3. Multi-Pass Wire Drawing

The wire is pulled through one or multiple drawing dies. Each drawing pass gradually reduces the wire diameter until the required specification is reached.

4. Cooling and Lubrication

During the drawing process, lubrication and cooling help reduce friction and heat, protect the drawing dies and maintain stable wire quality.

5. Wire Take-Up

After drawing, the finished wire is collected by a take-up system, spooler, or coiling equipment for further processing.

TYPES OF WIRE DRAWING MACHINES

Different wire materials, wire diameters and production requirements require different drawing technologies. JIAKE provides three main types of wire drawing machines for medium, heavy and fine wire production.

JIAKE straight line wire drawing machine for steel wire production

The straight line wire drawing machine is designed for continuous drawing of medium and heavy metal wire. It uses multiple independently driven drawing blocks to reduce the wire diameter through a controlled multi-pass drawing process.

It is widely used for producing steel nail, springs, binding wire, welding wire and other industrial wire products.

JIAKE water tank wire drawing machine for fine steel wire production

Water Tank Wire Drawing Machine

The water tank wire drawing machine is a wet wire drawing machine designed for high-speed production of fine metal wire. The drawing process takes place with continuous cooling and lubrication to help control wire temperature and reduce friction.

It is widely used to produce fine steel wire for hexagonal wire, welding wire, binding wire, and wire mesh.

JIAKE pulley type wire drawing machine for multi-pass steel wire drawing

The automatic pulley-type wire drawing machine uses a series of drawing pulleys and drawing dies to continuously reduce the diameter of metal wire through multiple drawing passes until the required final wire diameter is achieved.

It is suitable for applications with low requirements for wire surface quality and various harsh workshop environments.

APPLICATION OF WIRE DRAWING MACHINE

Wire drawing machines are widely used to produce metal wire for construction, wire mesh manufacturing, welding, fasteners and other industrial applications.

Steel Wire Production

Wire drawing machines are used to reduce the diameter of low-carbon, medium-carbon and high-carbon steel wire for different industrial production requirements.

Wire Mesh Manufacturing

Drawn wire is widely used as raw material for welded wire mesh, chain link fence, hexagonal wire netting, gabion mesh and other wire mesh products.

Nail Wire Production

Fine drawn steel wire can be used as raw material for nail manufacturing and other metal fastener production.

Welding Wire Production

Wire drawing equipment can be used as part of a welding wire production process to achieve the required wire diameter and surface quality.

Galvanized and Coated Wire Processing

Depending on the production process and wire material, wire drawing machines can be used for preparing wire for further galvanizing, coating or other finishing operations.

STRAIGHT LINE vs WATER TANK vs PULLEY WIRE DRAWING MACHINE

The best wire drawing machine depends on the wire diameter, material, required production speed and final application.

Machine Type Best For Main Advantage
Straight Line Wire Drawing Machine Medium and heavy wire Stable tension and high production capacity
Water Tank Wire Drawing Machine Fine Wire Efficient cooling and high-speed drawing
Pulley Type Wire Drawing Machine General wire production Multi-pass drawing and flexible configuration

Which Wire Drawing Machine Should You Choose?

A straight-line wire drawing machine is generally suitable for medium and heavy wire production, offering high drawing speed and high wire surface quality.

A water tank wire drawing machine is a suitable solution for fine wire production where cooling, lubrication, and high drawing speed are important.

A pulley-type wire drawing machine can be selected for large-diameter wires with lower surface quality; this equipment is suitable for harsh workshop environments.
