To secure raw material independence and maximize manufacturing throughput, a major agricultural equipment manufacturer in Egypt sought a complete turnkey manufacturing plant. Rather than purchasing pre-drawn and pre-cut wire at elevated market costs, the client required a solution to process standard 6.5mm low-carbon steel wire rod down to 3.3mm precision wire, flatten and cut the wire to exact lengths, and weld finished poultry cage mesh sheets continuously.

Detailed Stage Breakdown of the JIAKE Egyptian Cage Line

Stage 1: 6-Block Straight-line Wire Drawing Machine (6.5mm → 3.3mm)

The primary raw material—6.5mm hot-rolled steel wire rod—is drawn through JIAKE’s 6-capstan straight-line wire drawing line. Driven by individual frequency-controlled motors with tuning-arm feedback, the machine smoothly reduces the wire diameter from 6.5mm down to 3.3mm in a continuous, non-slip process. Narrow-gap internal water cooling on tungsten carbide-coated capstans keeps wire temperature low, preserving wire ductility and surface brightness for subsequent spot welding.

Stage 2: Dual 2-4mm Wire Straightening & Cutting Units

To feed both the longitudinal line wires and transversal cross wires of the cage welding line without delays, JIAKE installed two dedicated wire straightening and cutting machines. Operating at high linear speeds, these units straighten the 3.3mm drawn wire coils and cut them to preset lengths with millimeter accuracy. Having two machines guarantees an uninterrupted supply of pre-cut 3.3mm wires for the welding stage.

Stage 3: High-Capacity Pneumatic Poultry Cage Mesh Welding Machine

The cut 3.3mm line and cross wires are transferred to the main welding unit. Pre-cut line wires are aligned automatically, while cross wires are fed via a high-speed magnetic hopper. Key features include:

• Pneumatic Micro-Pressure Welding Cylinders: Deliver high-density, uniform welding force per cross-point, eliminating deep wire indentations and ensuring maximum joint shear strength.
• Panasonic Servo Motor Pulling Cart: Guarantees accurate grid pitch dimensions (e.g., 25mm, 50mm, 100mm) across multi-meter cage panels.
• Siemens PLC & Touchscreen Control: Allows operator management of welding time, current intensity, and mesh length.

Installation, Commissioning & On-Site Results in Egypt

JIAKE dispatched experienced commissioning engineers to the client’s factory near Cairo to oversee mechanical positioning, electrical wiring, pneumatic piping, and trial production runs. Starting from raw 6.5mm steel coils, the integrated line produced perfectly flat 3.3mm chicken cage mesh panels with uniform grid openings and strong weld joints.
